If your shower door is damaged and worn out, or you are just updating your bathroom and need to purchase a new shower door, there are a few things you are going to need to know and do in order to pick the right shower door for your bathroom.
#1 Know What Style of Door You Need
First, you need to know what style of shower door you need. Do you have a tub that you want to put a shower door on? In that case, you need a tub shower door.
Do you have an open shower space that you need to put a door on? In that case, you have two different style options. You can have a pivot shower door that you swing, or pivot, open. Or you can go for a sliding shower door.
Once you know the style of shower door that you want, it is time to move onto the next step.
#2 Figure Out the Measurements
Second, you need the measurements of your shower space so you can purchase the right size door. You need to measure the height of the shower door, and you need to measure the width as well. When you measure the width, make sure you are measuring at the widest part of your shower. It is always smart to measure once, write down the results, and then check your measurements again. Repeat until you get the same measurements twice. Measurements are really important in construction, so you want to make sure you get it right.
#3 Pick the Glass
Third, it is time to pick the type of glass that you want your shower door to be made from. Do you want to be able to see through the shower do? If so, go with clear glass. Clear glass can make your space feel more open.
Do you want more privacy in the shower/ If so, you should go with either textured or patterned glass, which allow light into the shower, but provide you with a degree of privacy as well.
#4 Select the Hardware
Finally, you need to pick that color of hardware and track finish you want on the door frame. The color or style of your hardware and track should match with the other features in your bathroom, or at least compliment them.
If you want to change out the shower door in your bathroom, you need to know what type of shower door you want. Then you need to obtain measurements so you can choose the right size replacement door. Next, you need to pick the type of glass and hardware you want the shower door to have based on the overall style look you are going for in your bathroom.
